South Adelaide's Under-18s have returned to the winner's list in emphatic fashion, recording a 24.15 (159) to 7.2 (44) win over Norwood at Hickinbotham Oval on Saturday afternoon.

Our Under-18s bounced back from a disappointing effort last week against West Adelaide to win well against Norwood at home on Saturday.

The players and coaches set their intent for this game early in the week, beginning at training last Tuesday night. Full credit to the playing group and our on field leaders who put our words into actions with a solid four quarter performance.

We got away to a fast start, with a strong wind at our backs in the first quarter and were able to keep the ball in our forward half.

Quarter two was also impressive going into the wind, with the players adapting very well to instructions at the break.

The second half was very similar to the first with our team scoring heavily with the wind while keeping Norwood off the scoreboard.

In the last quarter Norwood to their credit came out with some real intent to take the game on and were able to kick five goals.

What was just as impressive was our guys' ability to also kick five goals into the wind with some very smart ball use off the back of some excellent defence.

It was a very comprehensive win for our guys against a Norwood team that was below their best and missing some key players.

However, the coaching group was very happy to see the players take ownership of the West Adelaide result last round and set their intent early in the week for a strong response.

The SANFL Under-18 competition has a bye this week before we head into out last three minor round games against Eagles (away), Sturt (home) and North (Footy Park).

A handful of our players will train with the seniors this week and hopefully get an opportunity to play for the Reserves this weekend.
