Goal Kickers: J. Cross, N. Liddle, X. Gotch, M. Wundke
Best Players: K. Brooksby, K. Hartigan
Match Report After watching the game again I was pleased with most of our effort and apart for a period of 12 minutes in the third quarter where the Eagles really opened us up, the rest of the game was a real arm wrestle.
The game is about winning however and in this regard we came up short.
I am thinking it is similar to a miner digging a tunnel out to the fresh air.
We dig away and make some ground but for a bit of haste or not hitting the right spot we are subject to a cave in that sets us back a bit.
Last week the cave in happened early and we were digging for the rest of the game but this week we were making some progress to be slowed down in the third quarter.
We did keep at it though and the message to the players is we must persist because the light may only be a short space away.
I do believe if we can have a time of reward for our efforts and break through, we can then move forward with momentum.
It is our job to enhance the confidence to keep going as well as fostering real belief in what we can achieve.
Once again Nick Liddle, Keegan Brooksby and Kyle Hartigan showed the way.
This week I felt we had some support from Nick Murphy, Tom Fields, Josh Giddings and Todd Pfeiffer in our endeavors too.
There was also better support from more of us and the debut players, Caleb Daniel and Joe Haines also showed our supporters that they can offer a lot of excitement in the future too. Ron Fuller.

Goal Kickers: B. Eddy 3, M. Shaw, J. McDonald
Best Players: L. Makepeace, A. Cailotto, T. Stribling, M. Shaw, K. Miller, E. Irra
Match Report South Reserves won an arm wrestle against the Eagles on Saturday. A tight contest in heavy conditions the Panthers held the slenderest of leads all day to run out winners by eight points.
Small defender Lewis Makepeace played his best game at the level. Makepeace had 22 possessions and 6 marks in a strong defensive display. Taking the number one ruck position Alex Cailotto dominated with 51 hitouts and 14 possessions. He was well supported by Mason Shaw who continued his good run of form by spending time in the ruck. Toby Stribling benefitted from gaining first use with 38 possessions and nine clearances. Emmanuel Irra and Ky Miller gathered 26 possessions each and provided plenty of rebound from half back.

Goal Kickers: M. Ross 4, M. Minns 2, C. Wright
Best Players: A. Nicholson, T. Groutsch, M. Ross, J. Kappler, G. Lual, J. Anderson
Match Report Firstly, congratulations to former U18 player Caleb Daniel who made is league debut on Saturday.
The U18s played our first of 4 consecutive games away from our home on Saturday against the Eagles. It was our second game against the Eagles this year after we played them in Rd 6 and were convincingly beaten by 12 goals. On the weekend our guys started the game very well and went into half time only 2 points down in a low scoring game. Our 3rd quarters had been an issue for us all year and we were lucky the Eagles kicked poorly for goal otherwise the 15 point deficit at ¾ time could have been a lot worse. In the last quarter the Eagles got away from us and managed to kick 6 goals to our 2 to win by 40 points. The Eagles are a good side and have many players who have played a lot of underage footy so I was relatively pleased with the improvement our boys had showed since we played them in Rd 6. Our best player was our tall defender Alexander Nicholson who has played 2 good games in that role now and has worked himself into some good form. Other players who also had a good day were Jaiden Kappler, Tom Groutsch (who played the game out with a badly cut lip in the 1st quarter) and Michael Ross who kicked 4 goals.
This week we play against Norwood after the league game at Coopers stadium on Saturday afternoon at 5pm. Tony Bamford
