Match Report There is not a lot I can offer in the way of a reason for our performance on Sunday.
What I can say though is that as coach I take full responsibility for the result and must find a way to turn our season around.
There is no simple solution to a situation we are in but a lot of little things that have become a single big thing.
It just has to change.
I do have to congratulate Kyle Hartigan on his game though.
Against a lot off odds he stood up and can certainly hold his head high.
Ron Fuller.

Match Report South’s Reserves put in a poor four quarter performance against the Eagles on Sunday. Poor kicking for goal by the Eagles kept the Panthers in reach until half time before they powered away in the second half. The Panthers had few consistent players on the day with only midfielder Nic Schwarz putting in a four quarter performance with 20 possessions and 13 clearances. In defence Tarquin Brown was solid picking up 17 possessions.

Match Report It is never a good feeling losing a game of footy, but it is even harder to take when it’s the week before a bye…. now we have to wait 14 days to redeem ourselves and earn some respect back from the competition. Saturday didn’t to go plan at all. As a group we had a very positive week on the track after what was a really strong performance against North Adelaide last week. On Tuesday we looked at some vision of our effective team defence and efficient ball movement from that game and the boys had some real belief in their ability to push the best teams in the competition. Unfortunately that didn’t flow into the first half again the Eagles, who like North Adelaide, were undefeated so far. It was our most uncompetitive half of footy for the year. We were well beaten in all the key stats for the half and had several players who were up and about the week before very much down on form and being well beaten by their opponents. To make matters worse, we lost Caleb Daniel to concussion just before quarter time, he had been our best player up to that point. At half time the coaches gave some honest feedback to the players and asked them to make a stand for our club, our team and themselves to get some sort of respect back, to be competitive at least. Several positional changes were also made and some guys got to experience some positions / roles that they were not that familiar with. To the players credit, the second half was much more of a contest with the Eagles scoring rate slowing significantly and ours improving. The eagles kicked 12 goals 5 behinds in the first half and 3 goals 10 behinds in the second. But, the damage had already been done. Our best back was Sam Hamilton, best midfielder was Jake Anderson and best forward was Michael Ross. Hopefully the players learnt a valuable lesson on Saturday? With a bye week this week it gives us an opportunity to get some really solid training into the group and start our preparation for Norwood in 2 weeks. On a side note, congratulations to Darcy Hourigan, Peter Steffe and Caleb Daniel who have been selected in the SA U18 State Squad.

Match Report In the final game for the season, the panther under 16’s went down fighting against the Eagles at Hickinbotham oval on Saturday. When the Eagles kicked the first 4 goals quickly after half time it wasn’t looking good but the boys dug deep and matched the Eagles for the rest of the game kicking 4 goals to 5 in this time. The boys tried hard for the full 4 quarters and our tackling and pressure on the opposition was our best this season. Once again Cody Szust played a great game in the midfield and also kicked 3 goals while resting up forward. Todd Milford was very solid in defence all day and rebounded a lot of the Eagles attacks. The rest of the team tried hard in an even performance. I would like to thank all the under 16 players for their efforts in always wanting to improve. Thanks to the parents who drive a lot of kilometre’s to get the boys to training and games and also many thanks to my assistant coaches, all the trainers and to my team manager Edna Vanderham who have put in many hours of hard work over the past 6 months.
