150 up for Matt Rose

24 July 2019

South Adelaide Co-Captain Matt Rose notches up his 150th league match on Sunday against the Magpies.

Largs Bay native Matt Rose will line up for his 150th SANFL StateWide Super League match on Sunday, which is fittingly against his old side in Port Adelaide.

Having made his debut in Round 2, 2010 for the Magpies, Rose went on to play 50 League matches over 4 seasons.

Crossing over to the Panthers at the start of the 2014 season due to the Magpies/Power merger, Rose has bloomed to become an integral part of the South Adelaide backline.

Rose slotted in from the get-go by claiming the Mark Rawlins Memorial Trophy (Runner-Up Best & Fairest) in 2015.

His consistency continued by being named the Best In Finals for his part in the 2016 campaign, off the back of a stand out year where he averaged 24 disposals a game, a career-high.

However, perhaps the greatest honour was when Rose was named Co-Captain with Joel Cross for 2019.

Since joining the Panthers, Rose's leadership was evident by being a part of the leadership group in his second season, followed by being named Vice-Captain for the next three years.

At the back end of his 6th season at Noarlunga, the 27-year-old is enjoying another consistent year across the half-back line, averaging 22 disposals a game.

Congratulations Rosey on 150 outstanding games. Here is to many more to come!

Get down to Flinders University Stadium on Sunday to help celebrate Rosey's 150th!
