The Under-18s played against top-of-the-ladder Glenelg on Saturday night after the League game and fell to a disappointing 96-point loss.

It was our second opportunity this year to play in a triple header game.

Our team was missing some of our bigger stronger bodies due to injury and unavailability and found it hard coming up against the bigger opposition.

The game was lost in the midfield, with the Tigers midfielders taking control of the set plays from the start.

This resulted in a very lopsided forward 50 entry count at halftime. Given the amount of ball coming into our backline, we thought some of our defenders did a reasonable job.

At the other end of the oval, our forwards were starved of opportunity through low numbers and poor execution.

The lessons were very clear post-game, we didn't win enough ball to give us a chance to compete, we didn't fight hard enough for long enough for the ball in dispute and we didn't execute the basics of the game well enough often enough.

However, we did have some positives from the night.

Sam Whitbread became our fifth Under-16s-aged player to make his debut at Under-18 level. Sam played very well in his first chance at the next level and was our best player on the night.

This week we play Sturt here at home again, we need to reset and refocus this week starting with a good night on the track Tuesday.
