New look leadership group to Lead the Panthers into the future.

The South Adelaide Football Club is delighted to announce the leadership lineup for the 2024 season, with Jake Summerton once again at the helm, now joined by Sam Skinner as Co-Captain.

This pairing marks the first time since 2020, when Matt Rose and Joel Cross held the co-captaincy.

Oscar Clavarino steps up to Vice-Captaincy after his involvement in the leadership group last year.

Eamon Wilkinson remains a key figure in leadership, accompanied by newcomers Ollie Davis and Kobe Mutch, who have earned their spots in the group for the first time.

The Panthers began shaping their leadership structure earlier in the year during a camp at Victor Harbour, working closely with Leading Teams.

When reflecting on the honour of leading a club with such a long history, Skinner expressed his pride in being named co-captain alongside Summerton.

"Im very proud to be named as co-captain of South Adelaide this year, and especially so alongside Summo."

"Since moving to Adelaide Summo has been a massive support for me both on and off the field, and I’m really looking forward to the opportunity to repay the favour as his co-captain."

"We both bring our own leadership styles which I think will provide a good balance to the young group that we have. It’s an exciting opportunity to develop and lead our group towards future success."

Summerton, who led the team in 2023, shares Skinner's enthusiasm for guiding the young group towards their full potential.

"It's an honor to lead the South Adelaide Football Club again," he said.

"Our leadership skills and qualities really complement each other and this will be a positive change to the leadership group for 2024."

"We want to do whatever we can to lead and enable this young playing group to their full potential."

Senior Coach Jarrad Wright expressed his excitement about having Summerton and Skinner at the helm for the upcoming season.

"We are delighted and excited to have joint captains in Jake and Sam in 2024 to help guide our young group forward." he stated.

"Jake continues to grow his leadership in his second year as captain, he is an amazing person around the club and has connected the team and club in many ways on and off the field for a long period of time and always puts the team first."

"San is now an established person within the club and displays a level of performance each week which sets a benchmark for our young group to aspire too."

"Together in conjunction with our leadership group as voted by the players, the group has the right blend of Energy, Support and Performance to grow the club in years to come"

In addition to the League leaders, the Reserves have also named their leadership team for the 2024 season, with Sam Hindes appointed as skipper and Max Clifton as Vice-Captain.

Lachlan Hayes as Deputy Vice-Captain round out the leadership trio, supported by Charlie Duncan, Lachlan Scott, Jacob Collins, Chester Forster, and Dylan Brown in the extended leadership group.
