2024 Women's Leadership Group

21 February 2024

Brianna Cleggett to again lead the Panthers in 2024.

The South Adelaide Football Club is excited to announce Brianna Cleggett's reappointment as the Captain for the upcoming 2024 Hostplus SANFL Women's League season.

Cleggett, who has steered the team for the past two seasons, continues to demonstrate her leadership and resilience, even after enduring a season-ending ACL injury in 2022.

Once again, Cleggett receives a unanimous vote of confidence from both players and coaches, highlighting her strong leadership qualities.

She eagerly anticipates leading the Panthers to greater heights in 2024.

"I am so privileged to have the opportunity to lead this group once more." Said Captain Brianna Cleggett.

"I deeply believe that the foundations we’ve established together and now building upon is shaping a legacy for generations to come."

"A brand of football that nurtures emerging talent, connection and grit better than anyone in the competition."

"So as we embrace expectations and continue our brave pursuit of growth, there’s just one thing I want to make clear – this is our year."

Joining her in a leadership role is Jordann Hickey, named Vice-Captain for the first time this season after her return to Flinders University Stadium last year.

Nicole Campbell, 2021 and 2022 Best and Fairest takes a step back for 2024 to focus on her rehab and football after she suffered a ACL injury last year, but will remain an influential figure within the leadership group.

Additionally, stalwarts Sam Pratt and Tiffany King retain their positions in the leadership group.

They are now joined by two new additions with Sarah Wright, who will captain the Development Team when not playing at the league level, and Chloe Meyers as Vice-Captain.

Female Football Manager Jonathon Parker expresses his excitement about the leadership lineup for the upcoming season.

"It's truly exciting to have Bri lead our team once again," says Jonathon Parker.

"She has played a pivotal role in shaping our culture and identity, and I'm confident she will continue to guide us towards our goals."

Parker also praises the appointment of Jordann Hickey as Vice-Captain and the continued contributions of Nicole Campbell, Sam Pratt, and Tiffany Copley.

"It's great to have Jordann voted as Vice-Captain, alongside the familiar faces of Nicole Campbell, Sam Pratt, and Tiff King to add that level of familiarity."

"We made the decision to refine the structure by introducing a Development League Captain and Vice-Captain."

"It is really exciting to see Sarah earning that role as she continues to evolve as a leader, and to have Chloe involved is great to see."

"Over the past three seasons, our culture has flourished with the support of Julian Farkas and Leading Teams,"
