2026 Coaching Lineup
South Adelaide lock in their 2026 coaching lineup
The South Adelaide Football Club has confirmed its coaching lineup for the 2026 Hostplus SANFL season.
Senior Coach Jarrad Wright, who will become the longest serving coach in South Adelaide history in 2026, will again be supported by a strong group of familiar faces.
Returning for the new season is 2002 Magarey Medallist Tim Weatherald, who will continue to oversee the midfield group, alongside Adam Blakely, who remains in charge of the backs. Blakely has held a number of roles within the program, including Reserves Coach, Line Coach and Bench Coach.
2020 Knuckey Cup winner Matthew Broadbent will return to Pantherland for the first time in a coaching capacity after spending 2025 with the Roosters as a line coach. Broadbent will lead the forwards.
At Reserves level there will be a new coach at the helm, with Jack Maher taking over from Alex Pigou. The club thanks Pigou for his service and wishes him all the best for the future in his role at West Adelaide as Under-18 Head Coach and Talent Manager.
Maher coached the forwards in 2025 after arriving from Tasmania. He brings extensive experience and will look to continue his own development while guiding the Panthers Reserves program. He will be supported by Mark Griffiths and Curtis Perrey as assistant coaches and Denzel McLean as the Reserves bench coach.
The club also welcomes Fox Obst as High Performance Manager for 2026. Obst joins the program with a background in athletics as a shot putter.
South Adelaide General Manager of Football Brent Reilly said he is excited about what the group can achieve in 2026.
"We are really pleased with the mix of experience and new ideas across our coaching group," Reilly said.
"It is great for the playing group to have continuity within the coaches. Having Tim and Adam return, along with Matthew coming back into the program, is something we are really looking forward to.
"At Reserves level we are happy to welcome Jack into the role and we are excited to see what the group can build in 2026. We also thank Alex for his service to the club and wish him the best for the future."
