Lauren Clifton and Tiffany King to co-captain the Panthers

The South Adelaide Football Club is proud to announce that Lauren Clifton and Tiffany King will co-captain the Panthers SANFLW side for the 2026 season.

The club returns to a co-captaincy model for the first time since its inaugural season in 2018. Clifton and King will lead the Panthers into a new era, guiding the group in what shapes as a significant year for the football club.

King has been part of the Panthers leadership group since 2020 and has seen her leadership continue to grow over the past six years.

When speaking about her appointment, King said she was proud to co-lead the group.

"I’m really grateful for the trust our group has placed in Lauren and I to lead them in such a significant year for our club." said King.

"We’ve built a strong history of success through the standards and culture instilled by incredible leaders before us, and I’m proud to help lead a team that’s united in continuing that and pushing it even further."

Clifton, who joined the leadership group for the first time in 2025, has continued to develop in the role.

When speaking about her appointment alongside King, Clifton said she was honoured.

"To be selected as co-captain is a great honour and privilege." said Clifton.

"I’m really excited for the opportunity to lead such a talented team alongside an incredible group of leaders, and to share the title with Tiff in the club’s 150th year makes it even more special."

The Panthers leadership group will also feature a mix of experience and emerging talent. Chloe Meyers returns after being part of the group in 2025, joined by 2025 Margaret Nyland Medallist Soriah Moon, SANFLW games record holder Jaslynne Smith and emerging leader Taya Maxwell.

South Adelaide Female Football Manager Jonathon Parker said the club was pleased with the direction of its leadership group heading into 2026.

"We’re really excited about the direction of our leadership group in 2026." said Parker.

"We’ve continued our work with Julian Farkas and Leading Teams to strengthen these areas of our program, which remain a benchmark for the competition."

"It’s fantastic to have Loz and Tiff leading us in 2026. It's also pleasing to see their growth as leaders and we couldn’t be happier with how aligned the group is. We also thank Jordann Rugless for her contribution as captain in 2025 as she steps away from the role after starting a new family."

"As a program, we’re really pleased with the balance of the leadership group. Chloe provides continuity, while the additions of Soriah, Jas and Taya complement the group really well."

The Panthers will begin their SANFLW premiership defence with their first trial match on 29 March against Glenelg at Magain Stadium.

The match is scheduled to start at 1:50 pm, following the AAMI Talent League Girls game at 11:00 am.
