Andrew Brockhurst to depart Panthers

9 July 2021

Senior Women's Coach Andrew Brockhurst steps down.

The South Adelaide Football Club advises that Andrew Brockhurst will step down from the role following the 2021 season.

South Adelaide CEO Neill Sharpe thanked Andrew for his service to the club this year.

"Brocky brought genuine professionalism and passion to the role and we are grateful that he was able to guide the team back in to the finals."

"It was a challenging year for the team with the Club yet again being in the fortunate position of providing a number of players the opportunity to enter the AFL. That certainly increased the demands on the Coach in transitioning to a predominantly new team."

"Brocky is a terrific South Adelaide person and we wish him all the best for the future."

The former 131 game South Adelaide League footballer cited that the balance between a full-time job, family and coaching as the man factor for the decision.

"Coming into coaching at this level, you quickly find out that it's another full-time job."

"To be able to provide players with the best opportunity to succeed you need to invest a lot of time."

"Unfortunately, going forward I don't have the time commitment necessary to provide the girls with what they need especially with the SANFLW looking to expand in 2022."

"I would like to thank the club, my coaches and support staff for their support this year and look forward to watching them build again."

South Adelaide would like to thank Andrew for his commitment and dedication this year and wish him all the best for the future.

The Panthers have already begun the search for a replacement and will provide an update in due course.
