The Panthers could have up to 5 debutants against the Double Blues.

 

The Panthers are ready to kick off their 2023 Hostplus SANFL Women's League Season with a host of new faces. 

Taking on the Double Blues on Saturday night at Flinders University Stadium, the Panthers could have up to 5 debutants.

Former Eagle Charlotte Dolan will line up for her first game in the Blue and White after making the move to Noarlunga in the off season. 

Kyanne Campbell, who comes to the Panthers through the strong connection with the Pinktails/Redtails program will play her first SANFLW League match. 

Local products in Lily Baxter (Victor Harbor), Bella Rigby (Willunga) and Jodie Hunt (Willunga) are all a chance to make their SANFLW League debut after putting in strong performances in the two trials. 

A familiar face will also return for South Adelaide in Jorja Hooper, who missed the 2022 season due to a ACL injury. 

Returning Panther Jordann Hickey will be unavailable for selection until round 3 due to a current 2 match suspension, that was picked playing for Bond University in the QAFLW over the off season. 

Senior Women's Head Coach Rick Watts caught up with the SANFL's Zac Milbank to preview the 2023 Hostplus SANFL Women's League Season.

Meanwhile for the Development League team, there will be once again a host of new players coming into the side for the first time. 

Under the guidance of new Development League Head Coach Ryan Skouborg, the Panthers will be looking to carry their solid form from the trials in to Round 1. 

Elise Barwickwho joined the Panthers this week will get her first taste of SANFLW football in the Development Side. 

2018 Premiership Player Nicole Mark will also return to the Panthers and play her first game in the blue and white since 2020. 

Skye Kartinyeri-Sumner will also get her first crack at Development League level, as she returns to Noarlunga for the first time since 2020 after not returning after the COVID Lockdown. 

Jaimi Griffen will also return after stepping away at the end of 2021 after falling pregnant. 

All the action kicks off from 4:00 pm on Saturday afternoon with the Development Side followed by the SANFLW Team at 6:00 pm. 

Entry is free with plenty of food and beverage options available at Flinders University Stadium.
