BETTA Team Selection: SANFLW SF2 vs Centrals

25 May 2023

Having got the job last week against Norwood, the Panthers secured their second minor Premiership, first since 2018, and chalked up their 10th win in a minor round season for the first time.

However, looking forward to the major round, the Panthers take on Central District who are making their final series debut on Sunday afternoon.

One of the key's for the Panthers will be reducing the impact of league leading goal kicker Katelyn Rosenzweig, who has bagged 21 goals from 12 games.

South Adelaide Senior Assistant Ben Yeomans caught up with Dan Menzel and Jarrod Walsh on the SEN's SANFL Show to talk all things ahead of Sunday's big clash.

The Panthers welcome back into the extended squad Skipper Bri Cleggett, 2019 Best and Fairest Czenya Cavouras, Nicole Mark, Nari Wright and Round 11 Powerade Breakthrough player Brooke Boileau

Key ball winner Caitlin Couch and 2022 Best and Fairest Gypsy Schirmer will miss after suffering a concussion against Norwood last week.

There will also be a milestone of a slightly different variety when 2019 Premiership Coach Rick Watts will coach his 50th game at the helm.

Watts took over in 2019 where he would guide the Panthers to their second Premiership, and their third Grand Final appearance in 2020, before stepping aside in 2021, then returning in 2022.

Watts is the first South Adelaide Senior Women's Coach to reach that milestone, and the second coach in the SANFLW.

The Panthers have notched up 7 of their 10 wins by under 10 points, which could prove useful when the finals pressure comes.

The action kicks off at 12:00 pm on Sunday afternoon at Flinders University Stadium, followed by the First Semi Final between Norwood and Sturt.

Entry is $10 with kids under-18 going free. Game access club members of competing clubs will also be able to gain entry with their membership card. Parking around the ground is also available for $5.

If you can make it, don't miss a moment with SANFL Now, with matches across all grades streamed live or on demand.
