BETTA Teams Selection: Round 15 v Glenelg

15 July 2021

The Panthers make one forced change for their clash against the Tigers on Saturday.

After a successful road trip to Victor Harbour, the Panthers look to build momentum against the top of the table Tigers.

Sitting undefeated, the Tigers will be a tough task which will be made tougher by the loss of Dual Magarey Medallist Joel Cross

Cross will miss just his third game since joining the Panthers in 2011.

In more positive news, the speedy Mitch O'Neill has recovered from his slight hamstring strain and will come in for the injured Cross.

Tyson Brown has also been named in the squad having successfully made it though the Reserves match last week.

Bailey Griffiths and Luke Bogle round out the additions to the squad.

2021 recruit Bryce Gibbs will also notch up his 50th SANFL Statewide Super League match.

Before being drafted with the first pick by Carlton in 2006, Gibbs played 29 games for Glenelg.

During his time with the Crows, Gibbs played seven SANFL matches followed by his 13 to date with the Panthers.

Gibbs has fitted in well at Noarlunga averaging 26.7 disposals, 5.6 tackles and 106.2 ranking points per game and has also hit the scoreboard with eight goals so far in 2021.

His first goal in the blue and white was also named the Channel 7 Goal of the Week back in Round 3

Meanwhile the Reserves are up and about coming off back to back wins for the first time this year, with a one goal win over the Redlegs at a foggy Flinders University Stadium.

However, there will be a few changes for the Reserves with Daniel Sladojevic coming out due to soreness.

Jesse McKinnon, Liam Nye and Sam Whitbread also have been hit with the injury bug and will miss this week.

The last three meetings between the Panthers and Tigers at the bay have been split one a piece including the draw in 2019, which was also the Channel 7 Game of the Week.

All the action kicks off on Saturday morning with the Reserves from 11:55am followed by League at 2:35pm which is live and free on Channel 7.
