The South Adelaide Football Club would like to advise that Premiership player and dual Best and Fairest winner Nicole Campbell will miss the remainder of the 2023 Hostplus SANFL Women's League season.

Scans confirmed on Monday that Campbell has suffered a tear of the ACL on her right knee after landing awkwardly late in the third quarter during Saturday's one-point win over the Tigers.

South Adelaide Female Football Manager Jonathon Parker said that it is really disappointing news.

"It's an unfortunate part of the game and we're really saddened by the news"

"It was really an innocuous incident, whereby Nicole went to change direction, and her right knee just gave way"

"While there is a long road ahead, as a club we will fully support Nicole who already has a positive outlook on the situation"

Campbell joins the long list of South Adelaide Female players who have suffered an ACL injury over the last 12 months including Shae Archbold, Taylah Cook, Jamiee Millard, Savannah Rayner and Ruby Flanagan-Sjoberg.
