Joe Haines & Sam Overall 100 Games.

15 September 2021

A Great Southern product and a generational Panther are set to celebrate their 100th senior match in the blue and white during Saturday's Semi-Final.

They may play at opposite ends of the ground, but on Saturday, Joe Haines and Sam Overall will take to the field donning the famous blue and white for the 100th time.

These two Panthers have been consistent names on the team sheet and this milestone is the latest chapter in their impressive footballing journeys.

Hailing from Waikerie, defender Haines is the third generation to reach the 100-game milestone for the Panthers.

His father, Peter Haines, played 151 games between 1969-78 while his grandfather, Colin Haines, played 121 matches from 1938 to 1947.

The rebounder was named as the Panther's Most Improved Player in 2018, before finishing within the top three of the Knuckey Cup medal count in both 2019 and 2020.

Haines also made his SANFL State side selection debut in 2019 and again in 2021.

Meanwhile, as a Victor Harbor product, Overall joined the Panthers from Glenelg, where he has since settled into the side's attacking six.

Kicking 41 goals from his past 32 matches, Overall has proven to be a reliable target up forward for the blue and white.

Overall made his SANFL League debut in Round 16 of 2014 against the Eagles.

Sammy O, along with his teammate Joey, will celebrate their 100th senior South Adelaide match together this Saturday when the Panthers clash with Norwood at Adelaide Oval from 3:15pm.
