Joel Cross accepts striking reprimand

9 April 2019

South Adelaide co-captain Joel Cross has accepted a fine and reprimand handed down by the SANFL Match Review Panel.

Cross, who starred in the Panthers win over Port Adelaide at Alberton on Saturday, was cited for striking Magpie Jack Trengove.

South's stalwart midfielder was handed a base sanction of one match that was reduced to a fine and reprimand with an early guilty plea. He will be free to take on Glenelg at ACH Group Stadium this Saturday.

The two-time Magarey Medallist was also involved in an incident with Port Adelaide ruckman Billy Frampton, who was handed a three game suspension (down to two with an early guilty plea) for his intentional high hit on the Panthers skipper.
