The South Adelaide Football Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Mike Rann AC as Patron.

The former Premier succeeds another former Premier in Dean Brown AO, who has been the Club’s Patron since 2010.

Famous for his support of the Panthers during his time as Premier of South Australia, Mike had only one thing to say on accepting his appointment – “Go Panthers!”

South Adelaide FC CEO Neill Sharpe said Mike has continued to be a passionate supporter of South Adelaide while living predominantly in the UK and Europe in recent years.

“While Mike now splits his time between Adelaide and Italy he has remained engaged with the Club, and regularly tunes into matches during the season."

“His war cry of support for the Panthers has become legendary, while his support when Premier provided the South Adelaide Football Club with a permanent home."

“We’re extremely grateful that Mike has accepted the position as Club Patron and look forward to seeing him at the football.”

Neill Sharpe also thanked Dean Brown AO for his long-standing service as Club Patron.

“Dean has been a terrific supporter and ambassador for the Panthers. A member of the Club’s Vice-President’s group the Kingstonians, Dean was always happy to assist where he could.

“We’re extremely fortunate to have such well respected former State Premiers fill the role’s of Club Patron.”
