Mitch O'Neill and Fraser Turner become Panthers

23 December 2020

The Panthers welcome Mitch O'Neill and Fraser Turner to Noarlunga in 2021.

The Tasmanian duo will head to South Australia for the first time in 2021 and will do so in the blue and White.

Former West Coast Eagle Mitch O'Neill was taken at pick 25 of the 2019 rookie draft.

The 176cm midfielder is a prolific ball winner who also has elite agility which is showcased through his ability to step through traffic.

He is also clean overhead with a long, penetrating kick and averaged 22.2 disposals at 74% efficiency and 5.5 marks playing for the Allies in the 2019 NAB AFL Under-18 Championships, where he also earned Under-18 All-Australian honours for the second time.

"Mitch is a quality young developing player who has the ability to play inside or out." Said senior coach Jarrad Wright

"A strong competitor who has great ball winning ability and will add plenty to our midfield and we are looking forward to getting Mitch into the program and getting to work."

Former Richmond Tiger Fraser Turner will also join O'Neill at Flinders University Stadium for 2021.

Drafted to the Tigers with pick 58 in the 2018 national draft, turner was the youngest player taken in that draft class at just 17-years old.

Prior to being drafted, Turner had experience playing in the Tasmanian State League for the Clarence Football Club where he played 3 games in 2018.

The 186cm mid/defender also played 15 games for Richmond's VFL side incuding the 2019 VFL Grand Final win over Williamstown by 3-points.

"Fraser is an elite runner who can cover the ground through wing/half back." Wright said.

"His running capacity will be a perfect fit at Flinders University Stadium."

"Fraser has a terrific work ethic and played some strong VFL footy and played in Richmond's VFL premiership in 2019."

"It is very exciting to get Fraser to the club to continue his development."
