A dismal second half display sees the South Adelaide Reserves fall to the Bulldogs at X Convenience Oval on Saturday.

It was a tough day for the South Adelaide Reserves, as the side struggled to find any momentum before falling to a disappointing 3.5 (23) to 14.10 (94) loss.

The Panthers matched it with the home side during the opening term, with a late Bulldogs goal sending South Adelaide into the first break facing a narrow 1.0 (6) to 2.2 (14) deficit.

The low scoring affair continued into the second term, with the Panthers once again matching it with the Bulldogs but still faced a narrow 2.1 (13) to 2.5 (17) deficit at the main break.

However, the game would break open during the second half as the home side booted 12 goals while South could only manage the one which set up the disappointing 3.5 (23) to 14.10 (94) loss.

Sam Whitbread, Jack Elsworthy and Tyler Davies rounded out the best players for the Panthers.

The Panthers third loss in as many weeks now sees them sit at the bottom of the ladder.

The South Adelaide Reserves will now look to bounce back as they face Sturt at Flinders University Stadium on Saturday July 18, from 11:30am.
