Panthers and Southern District CC join forces for KI

The South Adelaide Football Club and the Southern District Cricket Club team up in support of Kangaroo Island.

In an effort to raise some much-needed funds to help the support effort on Kangaroo Island, the Southern District Cricket Club and South Adelaide Football Club will be going head to head in an exhibition T20 match.

The match is set to take placed on Tuesday January 21 at Bice Oval (Christies Beach) starting at 5pm.

The finer details are being worked out, but on the night there will be Raffles, silent auction items and gold coin donation on entry, with all proceeds going to the KI bush fire appeal.

The South Adelaide XI is headlined by Sam Overall as Captain, Joel Cross as Vice-Captain and Senior Coach Jarrad Wright will be padding up.

On the other side, the Southern District XI is headlined by former Nepal Under-19 player and 2018/2019 Victorian Team of the Year Player Sunam Gautam, first class wicket keeper/batsman for Worcestershire CCC in the UK Ben Cox and former West Indian Test and One Day Captain Carl Hooper and Worcestershire CCC batsmen/spinner and former England Under-19 player Ben Twohig.

The full teams will be announced closer to the event.

South Adelaide thanks the firefighters, emergency services workers and volunteers for their courageous and selfless efforts who are tirelessly trying to protect our communities.

In the coming days South Adelaide will announce other initiatives to help with the recovery effort.
