SAFC Past Players Wellbeing Program
Supporting Former Players: A Wellbeing Program for SAFC Past Players
Former players often face unique challenges in their lives after retirement from football. Recognising this, the SAFC Past Players & Officials (PP&O) Committee has developed a Past Players Wellbeing Program aimed at supporting past senior-listed men’s and women’s footballers as they navigate life beyond football.
There are 3 services available; Mental Health Psychological Care; Pastoral Care Support; Life Coach Mentoring & Spiritual Support.
The PP&O Committee are proud to announce a Corporate Sponsorship partnership with Aleda Collective which is a global collaborative leadership company, co-founded by past players Matt Wadewitz, player #1430 and Luke Darcy player #1432.
Program Overview
This initiative is designed to provide accessible and confidential support services to eligible SAFC past players experiencing personal or mental health challenges. Central to the program is access to professional mental health support, including psychological care, formulation of a mental healthcare program and psychiatric care if required. To do this the PP&O Committee have formed a partnership with Adelaide Psychology & Co (AP&C).
