Facing the competition's most in-form team, South Adelaide were overrun by a commanding Glenelg side over the course of four quarters.

During the game, another Panther earned his debut, with club and AAMI SA U18 captain Kodah Edwards (#1865) making his first League appearance.

The Tigers built strongly into the contest with three goals to one in the opening quarter, setting the tone.

Emmanuel Ajang's persistence at ground level created a second chance to send the ball one out to Ben Shillabeer, allowing him to kick the home side’s first against the run of play.

The opposition struck through Lachie Hosie to start the second quarter, before Harley Sparks went hard at the ball to hold possession, releasing Isaac Birt out wide, who found Tye Gander on the lead.

Gander slotted back-to-back goals as Arlo Draper ripped it out of the centre clearance, bringing the margin back under a kick.

South Adelaide appeared to dictate terms with consecutive goals, but the Tigers proved why they sat first on the ladder and slowed the game back down.

Any momentum the Panthers generated was short-lived, with skill errors proving costly as Glenelg converted them into 12.4 from turnover. 

Defensive coverage was also lacking, with Glenelg regularly finding inside targets to open up better angles and make the most of their chances in front of goal.

Seven goals across the second and third terms saw the visitors surge to a game-high 47-point lead.

The Panthers found some reward late into time on of the third quarter, with Tom Gillett and Jack Delean slotting set shots to trim the deficit.

Throwing everything they had at a resolute defence, goals to Draper and Ajang brought the margin back to four goals.

Hopes were quickly dashed, however, as the Tigers moved the ball cleaner and managed to pull away to win by 61 points.

It was a disappointing result given all the work they put in to kick four unanswered goals, but the Panthers' attacking intent once again left them exposed going the other way.

Leading from the front, captain Oscar Clavarino had his best return for the season with 25 disposals, 14 marks and three rebound 50s.

Finn Emile-Brennan led the Panthers high mark count with 16, picking up 24 disposals and four inside 50s with his two-way running.

Sparks was a standout with 28 disposals, as Nic Schroder and Elliott Duffield worked tirelessly to hold up against fierce attacking pressure.

Young midfielder Edwards played mostly on the outside, occasionally drifting forward for 16 disposals, seven marks and three clearances in his first League game.

Following the bye week, the Panthers return for one final home game before travelling away for the last three rounds of the season. 

South Adelaide now turns its attention to the Crows, with the game taking place at Magain Stadium in a fortnight’s time on Saturday, 1^st August at 2:10pm.

A nine-goal opening shaped the game for Glenelg to hand South Adelaide their biggest defeat of the SANFL Reserves League season, with the two sides topping the ladder heading into the fixture.

The Panthers were punished by skill errors, pushed back into their defensive half as Glenelg applied constant forward pressure. 

South Adelaide struggled to exit cleanly from kick-ins, with their poor execution preventing them from advancing the ball effectively.

The widening margin brought increased tension, the mistakes mounting as Glenelg took a 56-point advantage into the first break.

Michael Smith read the play to intercept a searching ball across half-forward, finding Cohen Shortridge in space for the mark. He went back and converted to get the side on the board in the second quarter.

Following a responding goal from the Tigers’ Ned McCarthy, Oliver Goss enjoyed a strong patch of play, calmly assisting Thomas Simpson before adding a goal of his own moments later.

An additional three-goal run from Glenelg then extended the gap, putting the side further behind.

Deep into the third term, Luke Bogle would kick the only Panthers goal for the quarter as they worked it out from defence.

Seeing out the game, goals to Shortridge and Corey Grocock ensured South Adelaide won the final three quarters after being stunned in the first term.

Phoenix Hargrave and Bogle battled hard for 21 disposals each, the latter ending with a goal.

Charlie Duncan led the team for marks with ten, alongside his 16 disposals.

Smith was a workhorse across the ground with 20 disposals and five tackles, while ruck Cody Lowe had 23 disposals and ten clearances.

South Adelaide will use the bye week to reflect on the loss and prepare for a return to Magain Stadium, where they will host Norwood in Round 16 on Saturday, 1^st August at 11:20am.
