Jack Delean Returns to South Adelaide

The South Adelaide Football Club is delighted to announce the return of Jack Delean, who has signed with the Panthers for the 2026 and 2027 seasons.

The talented 20-year-old was drafted by Fremantle with pick 60 in the 2023 AFL National Draft and spent the past two years developing within the Dockers’ system.

Although Delean didn’t break through for an AFL debut, he made his mark with Peel Thunder in the WAFL, where he played 28 games and kicked 33 goals, earning the club’s Leading Goal Kicker Award in 2025.

Delean originally made his senior debut for South Adelaide in Round 15, 2023 against West Adelaide, playing three matches and booting six goals before being drafted.

Reflecting on his decision to return, Delean said he wanted to give back to the club that helped shape his career.

“The club helped with my development throughout my teenage years and eventually that lead to me getting drafted, which ill be forever grateful for. I’ve heard how well the culture is at the moment and i’m excited to be a part of that. Delean said.

“I'm most excited to get to know everyone and play with some of my old teammates again and bring some success back to South Adelaide.”

Having spent two seasons in an AFL environment, Delean believes he’s grown both on and off the field.

“I matured a lot and learnt how to be a professional athlete and i’m hoping to help my teammates that are striving to be the best, as well as showcase my best footy on game day”

Senior Coach Jarrad Wright said the club was thrilled to see Delean back in Panthers colours.

“We’re excited to welcome Jack home,” Wright said. “He’s a standout talent known for his sharp goal kicking, speed, and footy smarts. His skill, vision, and precision will have an immediate impact and bring great energy to our group.”
