Welcome Jess Chyer
South Adelaide welcome Jess Chyer for 2026
The South Adelaide Football Club is thrilled to welcome Jess Chyer to Magain Stadium for the 2026 season.
The 20 year old enjoyed an exceptional 2025 campaign with the Goodwood Saints, where she claimed the Dutschke Medal as the best player in the Adelaide Football League.
A talented midfielder and defender, Jess previously played 33 games for West Adelaide between 2021 and 2024 before spending a year with Goodwood in 2025.
When asked about her decision to join the Panthers, Jess said she is excited to be part of a strong and ambitious program.
"From what I’ve seen so far South Adelaide are building a really exciting and talented program that I am honoured I get to be apart of. The effort they put into their women’s program is next level and they have a lot to offer for season 2026." said Chyer.
"I’m looking forward to helping build on what is already a very successful program and getting to work and develop my football skills within such an established program along side the existing talented players and coaches."
Female Football Manager Jonathon Parker said the Club is looking forward to seeing Jess in Panthers colours.
"We are delighted to welcome Jess and her family to South Adelaide," Parker said.
"From our first meeting, it was clear that Jess embodies our values and will bring more quality to our list."
There is also a proud family connection, with Jess’ grandfather and uncle both representing the Panthers. Her uncle George Czaja, player 1202, and her grandfather Douglas Matchett player 1105 both contributed to the Club’s history, playing five and 19 games respectively.
"It’s such an honour to be able to play where both my uncle and grandfather played and wear the same gurnsey they once wore. I hope I can make them both proud and carry on the family name."
The South Adelaide Football Club warmly welcomes Jess to the Club and looks forward to seeing her in action throughout the 2026 season.
