BETTA Team Selection: SANFL Round 8 v Glenelg

29 May 2025

After falling to a fast-finishing Eagles outfit last week, the Panthers return to Magain Stadium to take on the reigning premiers, Glenelg.

The Panthers will be forced into at least three changes. Rising star Noah Howes has been drafted by Collingwood in last night’s AFL Mid-Season Rookie Draft - a huge achievement, and the club congratulates Noah and wishes him all the best in the next chapter of his career. Emanuel Ajang will miss with a knee injury, while Liam Fitt is unavailable due to personal reasons. Isaac Birt and Jacob Collins also come out of the side.

On a positive note, the Panthers welcome back key defender Oscar Clavarino and dynamic forward Eamon Wilkinson. Ben Ashley-Cooper also returns and is joined in the squad by Charlie DuncanBailey PilmoreDakota Sterzl, and Damon Freitag. Speedy forward Tye Gander (St George Dragons) has been named and is a chance to make his SANFL debut after a string of standout performances in the Reserves.

Meanwhile, the Reserves once again face Glenelg in a top of the table clash on Saturday morning. last time these two teams met in round 3 things ended how they started, with both teams leaving with a draw.

This weekend also marks a special milestone as the Panthers celebrate 30 years in the South. It was Round 8, 1995, when over 10,000 fans packed Magain Stadium for the club’s first game at their new home - also against Glenelg.

Make sure you’re there for a massive day of Panthers football, with things kicking off with the Reserves at 9:40 am, the SANFLW at 12:10 pm and SANFL at 2:30 pm.

Plus, the BETTA Seaford Family Zone will be back in action with plenty of fun for the kids! Enjoy a variety of Giant Yard Games like Giant Jenga, Connect 4, Bucket Pong, Snakes & Ladders, Naughts & Crosses - and a jumping castle!
