BETTA Team Selection: SANFLW Round 1 & U18G Round 7 v Norwood
The Panthers kick off the 2025 Hostplus SANFLW Season
The Panthers will open their 2026 Hostplus SANFLW League season against Norwood at Magain Stadium on Saturday afternoon, beginning their push to become the first team to win three straight SANFLW premierships.
It will be a big day of football at Magain Stadium, with the Panthers set to unveil three debutants. Local products Madison Brown (Aldinga) and Chanel May (McLaren Districts) will make their league debuts following impressive form in the AAMI Talent League Under-18 Girls competition.
They will be joined by Panther recruit Jess Chyer, who won the Dutschke Medal in the Adelaide Footy League while playing for Goodwood in 2025. Jess also has strong family ties to the club. Her grandfather, Douglas Matchett, (#1105), played 19 games for the Panthers from 1965 to 1968, while her uncle George Czaja (Chyer), (#1202), played five league games in 1973.
In more good news, the Panthers will welcome back dual Best and Fairest winner Nicole Campbell. She will play her first game since round 11 in 2024, when she suffered an ACL injury.
Another milestone will see three time premiership player Emily Brockhurst reach her 50th SANFLW game against the Redlegs on Saturday afternoon.
Meanwhile, the Panthers Under-18 Girls will be looking to secure a finals spot with a win.
Saturday’s quad header begins with West Adelaide and Glenelg Under-18 Girls at 10.00 am, followed by the West Adelaide and Glenelg SANFLW match at 12.00 pm. The Panthers and Redlegs will face off at 2.15 pm, before the day concludes with the Panthers and Redlegs Under-18 Girls match at 4.30 pm.
The Panthers will also unfurl the 2025 premiership flag at 2.00 pm on Saturday afternoon.
