BETTA Team Selection: Round 7 SANFLW v Glenelg
After a slow start proved costly against the ladder leading Eagles, South Adelaide turns its attention to the Tigers at the Bay on Saturday afternoon.
The Panthers have been forced to make three changes, with Madison Brown ruled out due to concussion after an incident in the first quarter last Saturday. Draft prospects Emma Charlton, who is part of the AFLW Academy, and Layla Vizgaudis will also be unavailable as she lines up for the National All Stars.
Their absence opens the door for two Panthers premiership players, Nikki Nield and Jordann Rugless, who will both return this week.
Nield last played in the 2024 Grand Final and will play her first SANFLW game in 701 days after successfully getting through her match with Christies Beach last week.
Rugless will also make her return after 415 days away from SANFLW football following the birth of her child. Fittingly, her comeback comes at the same venue and against the same opponent she faced in her most recent Panthers appearance.
There could also be two potential debutants, with Cove Football Club products Jaidee-Lee Shortridge, sister of senior men’s player Cohen Shortridge, and Zali Trenorden.
The action gets underway on Saturday afternoon, with the first bounce at midday.
The match will also be streamed live and on demand via SANFL Now. Use code SAFCFAN2026 at checkout to receive 10 per cent off.
