A costly third term sees South Adelaide Under-18s suffer a fifteen-point defeat at the hands of North Adelaide at Flinders University Stadium on Saturday.

The Panthers, who were trailing by just a goal at halftime, conceded six goals during the third term which proved to be too much to get back as the side fell to a 9.14 (68) to 12.11 (83) defeat.

Angus Bradley led the way for the Panthers with a team-high 31 touches and 7 marks while Koby Cockshell finished with 3 goals.

Two of Cockshell's three goals came within the opening term as the Panthers and Roosters went head-to-head but neither came out on top, with the quarter time scores locked at 2.1 (13) apiece.

North Adelaide would gain the upper hand early into the second term with a goal at the fourth minute mark. The boys in the blue and white would push for a response but it wouldn't come until 19 minutes later when Cockshell struck again with his third of the day.

Inaccurate kicking plagued both sides as the Panthers and Roosters would combine for ten behinds during the second term.

A goal by Kyle Marshall, late in the quarter, gave the Panthers a promising boost as the side entered the main break facing a narrow 4.6 (30) to 5.6 (36) deficit.

But these promising signs would be short lived as the Roosters put the Panthers backline under immense pressure during the third term.

North would boot five unanswered goals during eight minutes of play, four of which were kicked by Thomas Cusack.

South Adelaide would show some fight, with the boys refusing to roll over. But the damage was already done.

The Panthers would storm home by kicking the final three goals of the match, but the third term proved too costly, and the siren would sound to signal the 9.14 (68) to 12.11 (83) defeat.

South Adelaide Under-18s will look to bounce back against rival Eagles at Flinders University Stadium on Saturday, April 17, from 11:20am.
