A dominant final quarter display sees the fast finishing South Adelaide Under-18s defeat Central District by 31 points at X Convenience Oval on Saturday.

The Panthers struggled to gain major ground on the Bulldogs throughout the day, but the boys in the blue and white managed to pile on four last quarter goals in order to come out on top with a 11.14 (80) to 7.7 (49) win.

Hugo Hoeck was impressive for the Panthers with four goals while Brayden Cook collected a team-high 20 touches and a game-high eight marks.

The Panthers started out as the better of the two sides as Liam Hamilton got things started with the first goal of the match, while Hoeck followed up just two minutes later with his first goal of the day.

But the home side would storm home in the second half of the opening term, booting three goals to even the scores at the first break. The Bulldogs would follow up with the first goal of the second quarter to put the Panthers on the back foot.

The two sides would continue trade blows, but each could only muster behinds as the Panthers scored five minors while the Bulldogs managed only two points. This was until Jayden Scott kicked truly at the twenty-first minute mark to hand the lead back to the Panthers.

South Adelaide would continue on with this momentum as they held the Bulldogs scoreless for twenty minutes as the next Central's score didn't come until the eighth minute of the third term, at which point the Panthers held a strong 19-point lead.

But a few late Bulldog goals would cut the Panthers lead to just 11 points at the final change.

While South Adelaide were narrowly winning the inside 50 count with 42 to 38, the Panthers made the most of their chances.

The Panthers combined for four final term goals two of which were kicked by Hoeck, and ultimately came out on top with the 11.14 (80) to 7.7 (49) win.

The South Adelaide Under-18s now face Sturt at Flinders University Stadium on Saturday September 5, from 11:30am.
