A scoreless final term sees the South Adelaide Under-18s fall to a ten-point loss against Glenelg at Flinders University Stadium on Saturday.

The Panthers held a slight 14-point lead at the final break, but a 24-point turn around saw South Adelaide suffer an 8.7 (55) to 9.11 (65) defeat.

South Adelaide certainly started the better out of the two sides, with Matt Roberts and Arlo Draper combining to give the Panthers a two-goal lead after just three minutes of play.

However, Glenelg were able to respond late with three unanswered goals to cut South's lead to just 4.1 (25) to 3.4 (22) at the first break.

The second quarter would prove to be a battle of the backlines with the first goal of the quarter not coming until Glenelg struck at the ninth minute mark.

Phoenix Spicer booted the Panthers' sole goal of the quarter and at halftime, the Panthers faced a narrow 5.3 (33) to 5.5 (35) deficit.

The third quarter saw the Panthers begin to open the game up.

Spicer showed his pace as well as agility with some clever footwork, while Jaiden Magor, Hugo Hoeck and Tom Barrett all joined the goalkicking list to give the Panthers' a healthy lead.

Unfortunately, the Tigers were able to respond with a goal in the dying stages to cut South's lead to 8.7 (55) to 6.5 (41) at the final change.

This final Glenelg goal saw the Tigers continue this momentum into the final quarter as they were able to get control of the game and hold the Panthers scoreless.

The final siren would sound to hand the Panthers a narrow 8.7 (55) to 9.11 (65) defeat.

The South Adelaide U18s will now face Central District at Flinders University Stadium on Saturday July 11, from 11am.
