Despite playing in tough conditions, South Adelaide jumped out of the box early with two goals in just the opening four minutes of the match. However, these would prove to be the only goals of the termand the Panthers entered the first break with a promising 2.3 (15) to 0.1 (1) lead.

The Tigers got things going early during the second term as they managed their first goal of the match at the sixth minute mark. But after this, the remainder of the quarter would prove to be the Panthers with both Dylan Brown and Liam Nye booting their second goals of the match as South Adelaide threatened to run away with the match.

However, the Tigers would threaten to claw themselves back into the matchwith Glenelg's Jayden Davies booting three goals in just three minutes. But even with this tremendous feat, the Panthers still held a strong 8.7 (55) to 6.1 (37) lead at the final change.

With most of the hard work done, South Adelaide sailed home during the final term to claim the 10.8 (68) to 7.3 (45) win.
