BETTA Team Selection: Round 12 vs Adelaide

23 June 2022

Liam Fitt is set to return to face the Crows.

Coming off a much needed bye week, the Panthers are looking to carry their momentum from the huge win over the top of the table Roosters into Saturdays clash.

They will be significantly helped by the return of big bull Liam Fitt, who has missed a majority of the season due to a shoulder injury.

Sam Ramsay also returns to the extended squad along with Zac Dumesny who rounds out the inclusions.

For the second week in a row, the Panthers will celebrate another milestone with Panther Junior Ben Heaslip set to make his 100th start.

Coming from God's country down at Victor Harbor, Heaslip played junior footy for the Encounter Bay Football Club before being nominated to join the Panthers Development Squads as an Under-13.

Heaslip was also part of a talented group coming through the Panthers Talent Pathway which also included Western Bulldogs Premiership Player Caleb Daniel

Heaslip would earn his League Football opportunity at the start of 2015, where he would make his debut in Round 1 against Glenelg and become the 1720th player to represent the club at League level.

Later that year he would earn the David Kantilla Memorial Trophy as League Best First Year Player, named the Flinders University Most Improved Player in 2017 and win the league trademark award in 2020 along with the Fans MVP.

Heaslip has also featured as part of the Panthers leadership group since 2018.

Talking with SANFL's Zac Milbank, Heaslip reflected on his journey through the Panthers Junior pathway to playing 100 Hostplus SANFL League matches.

Meanwhile, the Reserves are also refreshed and ready for Glenelg on Saturday morning.

All the action kicks off with the Reserves at the earlier time of 10:20 am followed by League at 1:10 pm.
