The Panther’s Women’s League is two from two, while the Development League faced their first loss of 2023.

The League team faced windy and congested opening term before registering their first major of the game by Lucy Northcott.

Debutant Tasmanian recruit Elise Barwick was impressive under pressure and provided plenty of movement around the ground.

The experienced Nicole Campbell teamed up youngster Lily Baxter to produce the Panthers second goal of the first quarter.

Soriah Moon was again impressive in her second return after earning the Coles Value Player for Round One and was assisted by the Panthers second debutant Bridget Needs who provided more height around the ground.

The opening minutes of the second quarter had Baxter earning her second goal of the night giving the Panthers a twenty-point lead.

In a game that consisted of a lot of back and forth movement, it was the midfielders that racked up the stats with Czenya Carvouras and Nicole Campbell collected 41 disposals between them. While Caitlin Ross was busy around the ball with 15 disposals and seven tackles.

Heading into the fourth quarter, the Panthers had a 17-point lead which would prove important against Norwood’s chain of free kicks and two unanswered goals.

The Panthers defense proved their quality when remaining composed under pressure and securing the second win of the 2023 Season.

Our Women's League Team will hope to continue their run of form against fellow top of the table team West Adelaide.

The Panthers Development Team were fresh off their season opening win against Sturt and ready to take on a challenging Norwood side.

The first term was scoreless by the Panthers in a series of congested plays and kicking against a strong breeze, however, inaccuracy in front of goals by Norwood was favourable only providing the away team with a three-point lead.

South’s first and only major of the day came off the boot of Kiahni Russell, who snapped one out of a contest. Jacinda Schunselaar was impressive around the ground, while Nari Wright proved to be a strong force.

The Panther’s would go on to score only one behind for the remainder of the game, before being upstaged by Norwood.

The Development Team will look to bounce back for Round 3 against West Adelaide
